Producer prices rose 0.4% from March and were up 2.4% on April 2006, data from the European Union statistics agency Eurostat showed Monday. The rise in prices was larger than expected, with economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires last week having estimated prices increased 0.3% on the month and 2.3% on the year.
